After the entrance ceremony, everyone began to study Japanese in earnest. The lessons are difficult, but everyone is slowly getting used to their class. Eating lunch together, studying together, and enjoying their school life together. They even have friends in other classes as well. You can hear the laughing voices of the students during breaks and after school.

Sogo Kamoku (General Subjects)

The students who have just entered Japan have already begun studying for the EJU (Examination for Japanese University).

Other than Japanese, they are also studying "Sogo Kamoku" or General Subjects. "Sogo Kamoku" is a test that covers history, economics, polictics and other topics in order to test the Japanese level of the student.

After regular Japanese classes end, the students stay and study for another two hours, every day until the test.

At university, students will need not just Japanese language skills but also the same amount of knowledge of economics as other Japanese students. Many students are having a hard time with their studies, but it's all to enter the school of their choice. Good luck!

Golden Week

In Japan, we have a long vacation period called "Golden Week." Do you know about Golden Week? This year, it starts on April 29th. Some people have up to 10 days off. There are many people who take days off during this period, so the roads are crowded, and planes and trains are fully booked. COVID-19 infections are slowly winding down, so there may be many people on vacation this year. If you had 10 days off, what would you want do?

First Day of School

Today is the first day of the new semester.
Some students have been waiting for over a year to enter Japan, so they've finally arrived and are going to begin their studies. The teachers can finally meet the students they've taught online for the past year.

Let's all work hard for our goals together!

37th Graduation Ceremony

We held our 37th graduation ceremony. This season of graduates had their entry to Japan delayed by the Coronavirus pandemic, so they started their studies online. Even after coming to Japan they took care of their health with the proper measures, studied Japanese hard and then took tests, and found a job.
Unfortunately it was raining on the day of the graduation ceremony, but everyone's smiling faces were very bright and impressive.
Congratulations on your graduation!

2022, The Year of the Tiger, is for beginnings and growth

Do you know about the zodiac? Japan has the zodiac as well. This year, 2022, is the year of the tiger.
The year of the tiger is said to be a year of beginnings and of growth.
2021 was a continuation of the previous year's COVID-19 pandemic, which affected school, personal life, and work.
We hope that 2022 is full of new beginning and a year where many things can grow...

Word Chain Game with Pictures

Long online classes can make it hard to concentrate for a long time.
If you don't take an appropriate amount of breaks, your studies will suffer as well.
For today's break, we used the Zoom whiteboard feature to play a game of Word Chain, using pictures.

After seeing what the previous person drew, the next person drew something as well.
Once the game was finished and we checked answers, only one group sucessfully completed the game. There was a lot of confusion, but the students looked like they had fun with the game.
Their studies are continuing, so sometimes, lets change the mood and do our best! ★

Do you like cup noodles? In Japan there are many kinds of cup noodles at convienence stores and supermarkets. Today we'll introduce an interesting flavor.

That flavor is...!
Sukiyaki Flavor!

This cup ramen is actually a limited time only collaboration with a television program, but there are also other various flavors of cup ramen noodles.

Actually, in Osaka, we have the Instant Ramen Museum. You can make your own original flavor noodles. When you come to Japan, please try to visit it!

Do you often look at manholes?
You probably don't pay much attention to them.
Japan also has a lot of manholes, but a lot of them actually have designs based on the local area or local specalities.

Near OBKG, in the Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Arcade, you can find colorful manholes with a design of Osaka Castle!
When you come to Japan, try to look for beautiful manholes! (^^)

The EJU Test is This Weekend!

Even though it rained unfortunately today, many students stayed after school to self study for this weekend's Examination for Japanese Universities.
Some students were studying vocabulary furiously by themselves and some other students taught each other the things they didn't understand. There were various styles of studying.
Recently it's become a little colder, so we hope that the students take care of their health and we wish that they do their best on the test this weekend.
We hope for a good result.
